Using Low Energy X-ray for Agriculture & Food Quality Control

21st May, 2020

Ensuring that seed germination occurs at the same time requires systematic inspection / selection of seeds. Tomato seeds below imaged at <20kV combined with 16 megapixel resolution are key parameters to scan through massive amounts of specimens with reliable fail / pass discrimination criterion. Geometric magnification combined with phase contrast effects unveils folding structure embedded in the seed down to few microns resolution.
